National Commander League
TCGs (Trading Card Games) date back as far as the early 1900s through collectible Baseball cards. However, it wasn’t until 1993 when Richard Garfield patented the idea to start a collectible card game, Magic: The Gathering – which would shape the industry better known as Trading card games.
South Africa has recently seen the Easy Gaming Group (EGG) National Commander League qualifiers kick off with finals set to take place on 11th December 2022. The National Commanders League consists of two qualifiers rounds, regionals, and finals. We at Gecko Media are proud to have serviced the official regional top 4 Play Mats (as pictured below).
The tournament will run throughout four provinces – Gauteng, Western Cape, Eastern Cape, and The North West.
Hosts to these qualifiers are as follows:
Gauteng:
1. The Nexus (Qualifier Rounds 1 & 2)
2. The Stone Dragon (Qualifier Rounds 1 & 2, Finals)
3. Dragon Town (Qualifier Rounds 1 & 2)
4. The Geek Home (Qualifier Rounds 1 & 2)
5. Top Deck (Qualifier Rounds 1 & 2)
6. Sad Robot (Qualifier Rounds 1 & 2, Gauteng Regionals)
Western Cape:
1. The Battle Bunker Paarl (Qualifier Rounds 1 & 2)
2. Sword & Board (Qualifier Rounds 1 & 2)
3. Durbanville Games (Qualifier Rounds 1 & 2)
4. The Warren (Qualifier Rounds 1 & 2, Western Cape Regionals)
Eastern Cape:
1. The Den (Qualifier Rounds 1 & 2, Eastern Cape Regionals)
North West:
1. Protea Potch (Qualifier Rounds 1 & 2, North West Regionals)
